Sylvia of Can't Backspace posted a link to 750 Words, a site that reminds you to write 3 pages every day. It's a nice concept. Check it out here: http://750words.com/
I'm a writer of science fiction & fantasy who dreams of the day she can run screaming to the bank with the advance check for the next Great American Novel.
3 pages a day? Almost never happens for me.

It's 3 pages of trash - the idea is that you clear out your head writing about the stuff at the top level. Then you are ready to get on with your day and do real stuff.
I don't do it every day but I had fallen out of the habit of journalling completely so I'm using this as half journal / half brain-dump. It takes about 20 minutes to hit the wordcount, at which point I close it and don't look back.

Since I had carpal tunnel years ago, I cannot write longhand very much or very long, so I stopped journaling. I used to do so every day for an hour or so. Did it for years.
