I love that line! Now, as to where I heard it, you should check out a cool site, Suvudu, where you can both download free ebooks and read a number of interesting articles, including this one by Alan Campbell, where he discusses some of his personal slush, false starts and just bad ideas. I've had a couple of experiences like he describes where you open a file to see what you were thinking (because you don't recall writing that file at all) and seeing something that baffles you. Hence the post title.
But the free booty is a draw if you like free ebooks. I prefer paying too much for old copies of the actual paperbacks, myself. Nothing beats a book in hand...except two books. Or five. Or just more than you had before. (Can you tell I like books?)
We'd get on just fine. I got rid of a load of books when we moved but we're steadily accumulating them again. I just can't resist.

I've bought the same titles of books I liked or just wanted to reread, several times for some of them.

Books are good! It's a healthy addiction. I promise. Especially if you share ;o)

I was just thinking, "I don't do that" when I remembered The Gate of Ivory by Doris Egan, which I've also got as part of The Complete Ivory. I suspect there may be others.

I assure you, I take book purchasing to an unhealthy extreme, lol. But at least I can afford to do it. Life is much better with books!

In my case it's an urge to read a book again after either 1) I decided it could go, I didn't ever want to read it again and besides I was *moving*; or 2) I lost it some other way or read it as a library copy.
Unfortunately, some of these 20-year-old paperbacks are now uber expensive!

books... yup
ebooks, doubt i'll go that route, much as i like tech...

I have done that. It can be quite expensive to get a simple out of print paperback.

One of my summer goals was to count my books. Not catalog them, that would be obnoxious. Though it would be nice if I alphabetized them by author.
Right now I have them organized by pretty factor. Hardbacks get precedence; paperbacks have a ton of pics and junk in front of them.
Incidentally, your editor gave you a very fine compliment the other day. :) Apparently you "get it."

Thanks for sharing that compliment, bets! Unfortunately, I always want things like that spelled out, because I'm hopelessly "but what die he MEAN???" (If you know what I mean, lol.) But I'll refrain this time, not ask silly questions, and just grin stupidly! :)
And as far as book cataloging goes, I just put all the ones I could think of on Goodreads.com and the next step is to go through the library and do the post-move sort and catalog via the goodreads. I DO intend to actually create a database of books in my library and all my cd's though. I keep accidentally buying repeats! Ack!
