Can I just scream here in annoyance at spam commenters? Especially ones who apparently want to sound provocative and say mean things to commenters in my blog? Srsly, you guys are assholes. And I promptly delete you.

Blogger has a really good spam filter these days; hardly anything gets through to the actual blog on Angie's Desk. My Wordpress blog draws a lot more spam, and those get through unless they have a lot of links in them. Either way, I delete them and ban their asses -- I have a rather extensive list of banned IP addresses, and also a slightly smaller list of repeat-offender web sites. I was getting like 50-100 spam comments per day over there, and sometimes more, before I figured out how to ban IP addresses.
They're definitely assholes. :/

Ahhh, the joys of spam. I don't have that issue anymore. Like Angie says, Blogger has a good spam detector (much like their parent Google's e-mail spam detector), and I use mine to its fullness.
Even wrote about one of spammers just for ha-ha's.

I don't have much problem either and am glad for that. DOn't people have enough to keep them busy?

I'll chime in that I don't have a problem with spam, either.
And as Charles Gramlich said in his post above this one, don't people have enough to keep them busy?

it's trickled off on my page, but i still filter everything... worst was some oriental yahoo, who refused to translate their post, so i disallowed any GRRRRRRR

I'm getting more and more spam and Blogger doesn't always pick it up. If the spammer throws in a few words like "I are always liking this topic" then the spam filter is taken in.
At the moment I only moderate comments on old posts but I'm wondering if I'm going to have to change that.

I haven't had a problem yet on Blogger (knock wood, throw salt, circle widdershins). Of course, by my declaring that, I've just opened myself up to the universe's sardonic sense of humor and will likely be baraged.
